Let's draw a diagram as shown below.
Let the blue region represent the park and the yellow region represent the path surrounding it.
Area of park = Length × Breadth
= 125 m × 65 m
= 8125 m2
Length of the garden including path = 125 m + 3 m + 3 m = 131 m
Breadth of the garden including path = 65 m + 3 m + 3 m = 71 m
Area of the park including the path = Length × Breadth
= 131 m × 71 m
= 9301 m2
Area of the path = Area of the park including path - Area of the park
= 9301 m2 - 8125 m2
= 1176 m2
Hence, required area of the path = 1176 m2
