Calculation of IMO Results
The IMO results are calculated based on the answer key issued by SOF on their official website after the commencement of the exam. The ranking given to the candidates is decided solely on the basis of their scores obtained in the IMO exam. However, in the case when two or more candidates score the same marks in the exam, ranking is provided using a tie-breaker. Check the details of the ranking procedure below.
Level 1 IMO Results
level 1 IMO results are declared based on the marks scored in the level-1 olympiad exam. To determine the result in tie-cases, the sectional marks obtained by candidates are taken under consideration. They are prioritized as per the following order:
- Participants with higher marks in Achiever’s Section are given priority over the others with the same score.
- Next, the marks obtained in the Mathematical Reasoning section are given priority.
- Marks obtained in Everyday Mathematics are given next priority.
- Marks obtained in Logical Reasoning are given next priority.
- Still, if the tie continues, the same rank is awarded to both candidates.
Level 2 IMO Results
Students successfully qualified in level-1 are eligible to sit in the level 2 IMO exam. There is no separate registration for the level 2 IMO exam. IMO second-level results are declared after the exam is conducted successfully. Students can download their detailed level 2 IMO results report from the SOF official website. IMO level-2 ranks are awarded on the basis of scores of level 2 exam. However, in cases of tie scores, ranking is determined using tie-breaker criteria as provided below.
- Marks obtained in sections are given priority in the level 2 exam
- Marks obtained in the level 1 IMO exam are considered.
